Outside/Offsite Weddings? |

Our pastors love to perform weddings. They never lose sight of the fact that it is the best day of the Bride & Groom's life. It's great fun but also a privilage to be a part of it.
York offers beautiful settings for outdoor weddings - The Stage Neck Inn, The Dockside Restaurant, Clay Hill Farm Restaurant, Hammond Park across from the York Harbor Inn, the gazebo at Short Sands Beach, Harbor Beach, the Nubble Lighthouse, as well as, the York Golf and Tennis Club all offer wonderful settings for outdoor ceremonies.
For weddings inside of First Parish Church please contact the church secretaries. However for outdoor or offsite weddings, pleases contact the pastors directly.
Here's a few suggestions for Outdoor Weddings:

Always have an indoor back-up in case of rain.
Remember, it never rains when you have your umbrella!

Music for your ceremony? - CDs? Strings? Harp? Guitar? Soloist?
Please let the pastor know what selections you'll be walking in & out to, as well as any special music you'd like during the ceremony.

Readings - please select at least 2 readings from the Bible.
A poem also adds a nice touch. You may have other people present the readings.

A Sound System for the ceremony?
If you've having over 100 people in attendance it's probably a good idea to have a sound system to mic the pastor and readers.

Rehearsals, while not required, are helpful even for services that seem simple.
They relax everyone by helping them know what to expect and how the ceremony will unfold.
